CVE-2026-44221CVE-2026-54076CVE-2026-54077GHSA-48QW-824M-86PRSeverity: HIGH

ArcadeDB versions from 21.1.1 to 26.3.2 are under investigation for a privilege escalation vulnerability that could allow arbitrary host file read.

What happened

An early warning has been issued regarding a potential vulnerability in ArcadeDB that could allow privilege escalation via the reader role in the /api/v1/command JavaScript scripting language. This vulnerability may enable arbitrary host file read due to missing authorization on the scripting path and a sandbox whitelist bypass. The affected versions range from 21.1.1 to 26.3.2.

The root causes of this issue appear to be missing authorization checks on the scripting path and a bypass of the sandbox whitelist. This could potentially allow an attacker with reader role privileges to execute arbitrary commands and read files on the host system.

Professional software engineers using ArcadeDB should assess their exposure by checking if they are running any of the affected versions. It is recommended to upgrade to the latest version of ArcadeDB that includes the fix for this vulnerability. For more detailed information, consult the primary sources provided.
