Decidim Gem SQL Injection Vulnerability: Early Warning

EARLY WARNING · UNCONFIRMED. This page describes a developing threat that 0Day surfaced from early signals and has not yet independently confirmed. Details may change. Always verify against the primary sources before acting.
GHSA-JVQQ-CVH4-XM37Severity: HIGH

An early warning has been issued regarding a potential SQL injection vulnerability in the Decidim gem's admin user search feature. This vulnerability could allow unauthorized access to sensitive data.

What happened

The vulnerability reportedly stems from untrusted term values being interpolated into raw SQL ORDER BY expressions in the admin user search functionality. This could enable an attacker to inject arbitrary SQL code, potentially leading to unauthorized data access.

Affected versions of the Decidim gem range from 0.10.0 to 0.32.0.rc3, with specific fixed versions available for certain ranges. It is recommended to upgrade to a patched version once available and review and sanitize user inputs to mitigate the risk of SQL injection.

For detailed version information and fixed versions, please consult the primary sources linked in this advisory.
