An early warning has been issued regarding a potential vulnerability in the getkin/kin-openapi package, which may allow unauthenticated requests to bypass security checks.

What happened

Reportedly, the getkin/kin-openapi package silently replaces a nil AuthenticationFunc with NoopAuthenticationFunc, potentially enabling unauthorized access to routes requiring API keys, OAuth tokens, or other security schemes. This issue is under investigation and affects all OpenAPI security requirements. Engineers using this package should assess their exposure and consider upgrading to a fixed version or implementing custom authentication checks as a precaution.
