What happened

An early warning has been issued for a critical vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-82448 in the Shinobi npm package. This vulnerability, which affects versions from furrykitten-3 to furrykitten-3, involves a hardcoded connection key in the child node service. This key allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary database queries. This can result in unauthorized access and modification of user records and camera configurations.

The vulnerability was first flagged on 2026-08-29T13:16:38.877000+00:00. It is currently under investigation and has not been exploited in the wild. Users of the affected versions are urged to upgrade to a version that includes the fix for this vulnerability and to review their systems for any unauthorized access or modifications.
